POLISH FILM FESTIVALOn September 23, 2023, at the gala in the Musical Theatre in Gdynia, we learned about the winners of this year’s awards at the 48th Gdynia Polish Film Festival. The film “Kos” (dir. Paweł Maślona) received the Golden Lions, while the Silver Lions went to “Imago” (dir. Olga Chajdas). The Platinum Lions, awarded for the overall contribution to creativity, were received by the production designer Allan Starski.

THE GRAND PRIZE “GOLDEN LIONS” of the 48th Gdynia Polish Film Festival for the best film KOS goes to director PAWEŁ MAŚLONA and producers LESZEK BODZAK, ANETA HICKINBOTHAM.
THE SILVER LIONS of the 48th Gdynia Polish Film Festival for the film IMAGO go to director OLGA CHAJDAS and producers IZABELA WÓJCIK, VIOLETTA KAMIŃSKA, DARIUSZ JABŁOŃSKI.
THE “GOLDEN CLAW” of the 48th Gdynia Polish Film Festival for the courage in form and content in the category “Different View” for the film TYLE CO NIC goes to director GRZEGORZ DĘBOWSKI and producers EWA JASTRZĘBSKA, JERZY KAPUŚCIŃSKI, JACEK BROMSKI.
The “Platinum Lions”, the award for the overall contribution to creativity, were received by the production designer Allan Starski.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS go to:
Special award for directors DK WELCHMAN and HUGH WELCHMAN for the unique film form in the movie CHŁOPI.
The Audience Award, determined by the audience’s votes in festival cinemas, goes to directors DK WELCHMAN and HUGH WELCHMAN for the film CHŁOPI.
During the closing gala of the 48th Gdynia Polish Film Festival, the winners of two other film competitions were also announced.

On September 12-17, 2022, Gdynia will host a great celebration of Polish cinema, the 47th Polish Film Festival. The Festival programme comprises of: two competition sections (Main Competition, Short Film Competition), numerous non-competition sections, as well as accompanying events.
